Boarding Education for Students from Bordering Communities and Artshakh

Ongoing
Boarding education for students from bordering communities

Summary

The project was launched to expand access to quality high school education for students from Armenia’s bordering communities, recognizing the importance of education for the resilience and long-term development of these communities. Implemented in cooperation with Shirakatsy Lyceum, the initiative provides boarding education opportunities to students from socially vulnerable families, enabling them to benefit from a high-quality learning environment.

Following the forced displacement of the Armenian population of Artsakh, the project expanded its scope to support students of the Shirakatsy Lyceum of Artsakh, helping ensure the continuity of their education in Armenia.

The project thus brings together support for students from remote and bordering communities and forcibly displaced students from Artsakh, providing them with access to quality education and opportunities for their academic and personal development.

The project aims to provide students from socially vulnerable families in Armenia’s bordering communities with access to quality high school education and broader opportunities for their personal and academic development. By supporting their education at Shirakatsy Lyceum, the initiative seeks to nurture young people who can become agents of positive change, contribute to their communities and peers, and support the longer-term development of Armenia’s peripheral communities.

Eight talented high school students from remote border communities and Artsakh are able to study at Shirakatsy Lyceum.
