Completed
A stone stairway and old door in Meghri

Summary

The project was implemented to improve the cultural infrastructure of Meghri Community and create more comfortable and dignified conditions for cultural activities at the Meghri and Agarak branches of the Meghri Sports and Cultural Center. Co-financed by the Izmirlian Foundation, Agarak Copper-Molybdenum Combine CJSC and Meghri Community, and implemented by the Meghri-Agarak Foundation, the initiative addressed the deteriorated condition of key facilities at both branches, including seating and sanitary facilities.

The project was particularly timely in the context of Meghri being designated the CIS Cultural Capital for 2026, with numerous cultural events planned across the community. The improvements aimed to provide better conditions for students, staff, local residents and visitors and support the organization of cultural events in Meghri Community.

Supporting Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra

The Izmirlian Foundation supported the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra as part of its commitment to strengthening Armenia’s cultural institutions and promoting access to high-quality cultural experiences. In 2017, the Foundation financed the modernization of the power supply system of the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall in Yerevan, addressing an important infrastructure need of one of Armenia’s leading cultural venues. The upgraded power supply system contributed to the reliable and uninterrupted operation of the Concert Hall, supporting the activities of the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra and improving the conditions necessary for hosting concerts and other cultural events.
